Injured Mancilla out of Chile squad, Bravo back

August 22, 2009

Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa has named 16 foreign-based players in his squad for next month's 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Brazil, Chile's football association (ANFP) said.

Chile, second in the South American group a point behind leaders Brazil, play Venezuela at home on Sept. 5 then visit Brazil in Salvador four days later.

The list includes goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, defenders Ismael Fuentes and Waldo Ponce and striker Humberto Suazo, who were not picked for last week's friendly, a 2-1 win away to Denmark.

Hector Mancilla of Mexican side Toluca was left out after getting injured in Copenhagen.

Argentine Bielsa will complete his squad with home-based players later this month, the ANFP said on its website (http://www.anfp.cl).
