D.C. United acquire defender James from Dynamo

August 14, 2009

WASHINGTON -- D.C. United have acquired defender Julius James from the Houston Dynamo for a third-round pick in the 2012 draft.

James has played in eight games with five starts this season for the Dynamo. He is also a member of Trinidad and Tobago's national team.

To make room for James, United placed forward Ange N'Silu on injured reserve. N'Silu has been sidelined by a hamstring injury.

United also signed defender David Habarugira, a veteran of Burundi's national team. Habarugira worked out with United on a trial basis earlier this summer.
