Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor admits he has been stung by the criticism he has received from the Gunners' crowd this season.

The Togo international has endured a disappointing campaign, failing to recapture his best form, but it has been his courting of a move to AC Milan and Barcelona in the summer that has angered some Arsenal fans.

Adebayor told ESPN last month that interest from Milan was ''something special'' and that ''it is like a boy being told Beyonce is looking for them.'' He was left out of the squad to face Manchester United last weekend after speculation arose over a possible move to Chelsea.

Seemingly unhappy at the Emirates, the striker told the Sun: "It was not nice playing at home and getting booed by my own fans.

"I don't know what to do any more. If Porto, for example, wants Adebayor it is not Adebayor's fault. Why boo me?"

Reports in Tuesday's papers claim that Inter have joined city rivals Milan in the battle to sign the Arsenal striker, with a fee of around £25m being quoted.

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi said on Monday that: "There are good chances that Adebayor will arrive this summer;" but with various European clubs circling it appears that the Togo star will almost certainly leave London in the next few months.
