Three Australian referees have been appointed to the FIFA Confederations Cup to be held in South Africa in June this year.

Matthew Breeze and assistant referees Matthew Cream and Ben Wilson will be the Asian Football Confederation's match official representatives at the tournament.

Breeze's appointment comes on the back of a number of career highs including being named the top referee for the 2008/09 A-League season.

This is the second appearance at the FIFA Confederations Cup for Breeze and Cream who both officiated at the 2005 tournament in Germany.

This will be Wilson's first FIFA Confederations Cup, having previously officiated at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
