Cagliari's Larrivey loaned to Velez for six months
Cagliari forward Joaquin Larrivey is set to return to Argentina on a six-month loan to Velez Sarsfield.
The 24-year-old Argentinian joined the Serie A side in 2007, but boss Massimiliano Allegri has rarely selected him so far this season and he will return to his homeland.
"I am going to give my life for my family and Velez, as they trust in me," Larrivey declared to TyC Sports television network.
"I had to talk in person with Cagliari's president (Massimo Cellino) to ask him to let me go. Returning to Argentina to a club like Velez is a great pride and an important challenge. I will try to do my best and prove that the best phase of my career has not started yet, as I want to triumph in Europe.
"I am physically fine and maybe I need to improve the football performance, but I will achieve that with matches. I want to triumph in Velez" he added.
The former Huracan man will travel to Buenos Aires on Saturday to begin his spell under Ricardo Gareca.
