FC Basel striker Eren Derdiyok insists he will reject any future interest from Everton and join Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.

The Toffees are reported to have approached Derdiyok before Monday's winter transfer deadline as David Moyes looked to ease his attacking injury problems.

Switzerland international Derdiyok, however, rejected any possible pursuit from Moyes - who signed Manchester City's Jo on loan - and is adamant that he is eager to make a proposed summer switch to Leverkusen.

Derdiyok told Kicker-Sport: "I have full trust in the plans of Leverkusen. They have convinced me how, and with which players, the plans will happen."

And when asked about potentially joining Everton, Derdiyok added: "I really have no interest in making such a move.

"I am not the type of guy that changes his opinion often."

And Derdiyok hopes that he can help Basel win their domestic league before leaving for Germany.

"My aim is to win as many matches as possible with Basel and win the league," he added. "I owe that to the supporters.

"We all want to win the league and then I am going to Leverkusen."
