Brazil international Thiago Neves will return to Fluminense for four months before joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, his agent Leo Rabello has revealed.
The 23-year-old midfielder left his homeland to join Hamburg last season but the Bundesliga side have now sold the former Parana and Vegalta Sendai player to Al-Hilal in a seven million euro deal.
Rabello revealed Thiago accepted the transfer because of the short-term Fluminense deal, where he will stay until July 3.
"They (Hamburg) decided to sell Thiago, but I imposed the condition to loan him to Fluminense," Rabello said.
"I said I was going to achieve this and some people doubted me. The last details will be sealed today or tomorrow. It was a hard negotiation, but I was able to get what the player wanted.
"The Hamburg president did not want Thiago to come back to Brazil as he considered this move will over-value the player.
"But Thiago said he will only sign with Al-Hilal if he could return to Laranjeiras," he added.
