Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce aims to get revenge on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after Harry Redknapp's side knocked his men out of the FA Cup just over a week ago.
The 3-1 defeat in London was slightly misleading as the Latics had a number of first-choice players out through injury and suspension.
Bruce, with all his players available again, has promised a much-improved performance and hopes their impressive recent home record will negate the effect of Jermain Defoe's return to Spurs.
The England striker, who completed his move from Portsmouth less than 12 months after leaving White Hart Lane, has a habit of scoring on debut.
And although on Sunday is not technically a debut, Bruce is well aware of the threat.
"He is a very good signing. I knew as soon as I saw him sign he would make his debut against us," said the manager, whose side have won their last four matches at the JJB Stadium to rise to seventh in the Barclays Premier League.
"We will do our utmost to ensure he doesn't score.
"In the FA Cup last week we were badly hammered. I am convinced we will be a different proposition on our own patch.
"We have everyone fit and that can only be a boost to everyone.
"We haven't beaten Spurs in the Premier League. Let's hope it is our turn."
Successive wins at home to Everton, West Brom, Blackburn and Newcastle in November and December have provided a timely lift ahead of what was always going to be a testing spell early in the new year.
And although that run has raised confidence in the camp, Bruce was quick to point out they cannot afford to be complacent given the matches coming up.
"We have done particularly well. We've had a great run and it sets us up nicely for the month ahead - we knew January would be the defining month," said the Latics boss.
"We've got Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa. Fantastic.
"It's a bit daunting but everyone is fit and we are decent at home so I hope we can get up and running at the start of the month.
"We are not going to get carried away, we can't. We are on a good run but we are also aware that the Premier League is so unforgiving.
"I could quite easily come to you in a month's time having lost five on the bounce and my head's on the chopping block.
"We will try to compete with them and if everyone stays fit they are in for a hell of a game when they come here."
Bruce could make as many as six changes for on Sunday's clash with Spurs.
Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland missed the previous two matches with a groin injury but has recovered while strikers Emile Heskey and Amr Zaki and right-back Mario Melchiot have all trained this week.
Midfielder Lee Cattermole also returns from suspension.
