Exciting young midfielder Brendan Gan has re-signed with struggling Sydney FC on a two-year deal.Gan, who made his debut in the senior side in November 2008, has made an impression in his brief career with Sydney. In December, the 20-year-old scored the winning goal against the Newcastle Jets, giving Sydney their first win in seven games."It was a pretty easy decision in the end. I'm a Sydney boy so I always wanted to stay in Sydney," he said in a statement on Friday."I'm still young, still inexperienced and this is going to be an opportunity to further my career and further my development."The deal means Gan will join the senior squad next season, and he believes Sydney will have learnt some valuable lessons from their disappointing season."This club's been a top-flight team since the start of the A-League," he said."I think the team's going to develop very well, and it's just going to turn into a very good team."Hopefully in the next two years we can win some trophies.Gan said he was always confident he would re-sign with the club."I thought I had to prove myself before I got the opportunity to sign," he said."In the end (coach John Kosmina) did give me the opportunity to step up and hopefully I've done the job for him."Sydney face off against the Wellington Phoenix on Sunday at the Sydney Football Stadium.
