Valenciennes president Francis Decourriere and under-fire coach Antoine Kombouare are expected to be given the green light to continue in their posts when the club's board convene for a general meeting on Wednesday night.
The northerners are stuck in Ligue 1's relegation zone with just 10 points from 15 games, and the pressure has turned on the men in charge.
However, the club's five-man board should vote to keep both Decourriere and Kombouare at the helm of VA. A sporting director may be appointed to take some of the weight off Kombouare's shoulders.
"To give all the technical powers to just one man, as we did this summer, was perhaps not the best solution," Decourriere said at the weekend.
VA have not won in the league since August 23 although their draw with Sochaux last Saturday lifted them off the foot of the table, where they were replaced by St Etienne.
