Bayern Munich boss Jurgen Klinsmann admitted conceding two late goals to draw 2-2 with struggling Borussia Monchengladbach was "very, very annoying".

A goal from Luca Toni and a Franck Ribery penalty had put Bayern in total control, but Rob Friend and Michael Bradley struck in the space of two second-half minutes to snatch a point for Gladbach.

With Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen both winning, dropping two points left the defending champions three points adrift of the Bundesliga summit.

"We did not want to fall any further behind the league leaders, but unfortunately we have not been able to do that," said Klinsmann. "We now have got to correct that.

"From our point of view, this is very, very annoying to have conceded two goals here and to go home with just the one point."

Bayern play both Leverkusen and Hoffenheim in the remaining four matches before the winter break. Philipp Lahm made his return against Gladbach after several weeks out with a foot injury. He set up the goal for Toni, but could only watch from the sidelines after he had been substituted as his team-mates surrended their lead.

"When you lead 2-1, you cannot be outnumbered inside your own area," he said. "That is very annoying and should not happen to a top team. Maybe we felt too safe and did not concentrate enough. We had the game under control, but failed to close it out."
