Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has been fined 12,000 euros for his rant at the referee after last weekend's loss at Hamburg.

Klopp confronted Dr Jochen Drees on the pitch after his side's 2-1 defeat and again in the officials' changing room.

A statement on the German FA website, said the fine had been issued for "continuous sporting misconduct".

It continued: "Immediately after the end of Saturday's game Klopp went up to referee Dr Jochen Drees and his assistants on the pitch and later also in the referee's changing room, where he approached the team in an unsporting way."

The former Mainz coach, who has apologised for his behaviour, has accepted the fine.
