MUNICH, November 8 (Bundesliga) - Bayern Munich are on the lookout for a new striker, coach Jurgen Klinsmann has revealed.
Klinsmann told the Bild newspaper the Bavarian giants remain on the outlook for a striker despite their embarrassment of riches up front.
Germany international Lukas Podolski has often found himself frozen out of the first team behind regular strike duo Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose, but that has not stopped Klinsmann from exploring options elsewhere.
"We have a lot of contacts with many people because we speak to our scouting network on a regular basis," he said. "There are lots of talented players out there who we are keeping an eye on.
"It is not a terrible situation to go into the season with three strikers. We have also got Franck Ribery and Tim Borowski as alternatives who can play more advanced positions.
"We now have five or six weeks to see if it is necessary to do something [in January].
"The board and I meet very regularly and we do talk about names, obviously.
"We are observing a lot, not just within FC Bayern."
