Ramon Maradiaga has left his role as coach of Guatemala despite their World Cup qualification chances remaining alive.
The Guatemalan Football Federation and the Honduran parted company following the 2-1 loss to Cuba last Wednesday which severly damaged chances of qualification for South Africa 2010 from the CONCACAF zone.
After five matches and with one remaining in the semi-final stage's Group One, Guatemala have collected five points, three less than second-placed Trinidad & Tobago, who only require a draw against already-eliminated Cuba on November 11 to qualify.
Guatemala travel to already-qualified United States requiring victory and defeat for Trinidad & Tobago to progress.
