Scotland manager George Burley will assess the fitness of Kevin Thomson and Kris Commons when the squad reports to the national team's training base tonight.
Thomson has been rated a major doubt after being carried off with an ankle injury following a 50-50 clash in Rangers' 1-0 defeat to St Mirren yesterday.
Commons is also a concern after missing the last couple of weeks for Derby County with a hamstring strain.
Burley's tenure has been hit hard by withdrawals so far and he will be keen to have as strong a squad as possible at his disposal for Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Norway.
"We will see tonight when all the squad reports,'' said assistant manager Terry Butcher.
"Kris Commons hasn't played for a couple of weeks and Kevin Thomson got a really sore one yesterday at St Mirren so we will see what the doctors and physios say tonight.
"We will look at all the other players as well and I'm sure there will be one or two little knocks and niggles.
"But, at this moment in time, there are only one or two who could be a doubt which is remarkable for Scotland because there are normally eight or nine at least.''
