Carling Cup: Home draws for league's big boys

Most of the big-boys were drawn at home in the Fourth Road of the Carling Cup, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all finding themselves on home soil.

Although the tie of the round looks to be the visit of Rafa Benitez's Liverpool to struggling Tottenham, holders of the trophy from last year.

Spurs, who defeated Chelsea to lift the trophy last season, took a break from their league troubles to dump Newcastle out in the previous round and must beat top-flight opposition again if they are to progress.

Liverpool travel to White Hart Lane as the most successful side in league cup history, last winning the competition in 2005.

Arsenal's much-vaunted youngsters, who demolished Sheffield United 6-0 last time out, will get another chance to impress, this time against Premier League opponents Wigan at the Emirates.

Manchester United face the billionaires of QPR at Old Trafford, while Burnley will travel to Chelsea after knocking out Fulham.

Sunderland and Blackburn, managed by former Manchester United stars Roy Keane and Paul Ince respectively, will also face each other at the Stadium of Light.

Elsewhere, giant killers Rotherham are given Premier League opposition at Stoke, Leeds will go to either Derby or Brighton and West Ham's conquerors Watford will play Swansea City.
