Hearts have admitted they have failed to pay their players this week's wages.

But the Scottish Premier League club insisted the problem was down to technical reasons and that the squad will be paid at the start of next week.

A club spokesperson said: "A technical reason has led to a delay in payment of players weekly wages.

"The players will, however, be paid at the beginning of next week."
