Row rumbles on between Catania and Inter

The row between Catania and Internazionale shows no sign of abating with the Sicilian club's president Antonino Pulvirenti having his say on Thursday.

Pulvirenti has condemned his Inter counterpart Massimo Moratti for comments he made about Catania administrator Pietro Lo Monaco.

Lo Monaco spoke out, landing himself in hot water with the Italian Football League, after Inter coach Jose Mourinho claimed he could have played in goal for the Nerazzurri in their 2-1 win over Catania at the weekend.

Pulvirenti said in a statement: "Massimo Moratti has described our club administrator Pietro Lo Monaco as 'uncivil'.

"I would like to point out that Moratti does not know Pietro Lo Monaco ... despite this, the Inter president has taken the liberty of offending Lo Monaco.

"I really expected much more from president Moratti.

"The use of such terms by the Nerazzurri supremo calls for the intervention of the FIGC, of whom I expect the same procedure which they have launched against our club administrator."

Pulvirenti added: "This is the last time in which Catania will comment on the provocative, offensive and unsportsmanlike comments made by Mr Mourinho following the game between Inter and Catania."
