Brazil striker Adriano has targeted Saturday's Serie A encounter with Catania to return to competitive action with Internazionale.
The 26-year-old impressed early in pre-season after returning to Italy following a six-month loan spell with Sao Paulo in his native Brazil, where he was sent to rediscover his form and fitness.
Adriano has not appeared in a competitive fixture for Inter since a game against Napoli on October 6, 2007.
He has spent the last three weeks on the sidelines with a muscular strain, but has now resumed full training and is raring to go.
"It's a shame about the muscular problem I've had, but these are things that can happen," he told the Inter Channel.
"I was in great form before getting hurt and I was showing the coach (Jose Mourinho) that I really want to get back to being the Adriano of a few years ago.
"But I'm fine now and I have already trained with the squad. I'm hoping to be available to the coach starting from Saturday's match against Catania.
"I'd like to play a few minutes against Catania and do well, but I know it won't be easy because I have been out for three weeks. I'm at the service of the coach and I hope to help my team-mates."
