Tottenham first-team coach Gus Poyet has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant Newcastle manager's job.

The Uruguayan has been installed as one of the favourites to replace Kevin Keegan with the presence of Dennis Wise, given Poyet's partnership with his former Chelsea team-mate at Leeds.

But Poyet insists he has no plans for a reunion with Wise in the north-east and is happy with life under Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane.

"It's very clear that it's nothing at all," he told Spurs' website.

"I'm very happy here. I've had almost a year back at the club with Juande and (Spurs coach) Marcos (Alvarez).

"This is just speculation and it's all too easy because of my relationship with Dennis Wise.

"It's nothing to worry about and all I intend to do is relax and continue with my job."
