Mexico forward Nery Castillo is set to end his spell at Manchester City and join Spanish club Real Betis.
Castillo will undergo a medical on Tuesday if a deal can be reached with Shakhtar Donetsk, who hold his rights.
Castillo had been on a year-long loan with City, due to run until January, but injuries limited his ability to make an impact in the Premier League.
He paid a significant sum of his own money to join City, but Castillo's agent Juan Carlos Padilla said that his client was ready to start over and is set to sign on loan for Betis.
'Decisions must be made according to sporting and not financial matters,' Padilla told mediotiempo.com.
'You have to think about where you would feel better, where you could gain more confidence.
'The Betis offer is very important for Nery because he will be an important player there. It will be useful for him to gain confidence and find his best form ahead of the World Cup.'
