Nigeria's football association have written to Marseille demanding the release of defender Taye Taiwo for next month's Olympics in Beijing.
FIFA, the world governing body, ruled on Wednesday that clubs must release players under the age of 23, but the Ligue 1 outfit have failed to comply with the ruling.
Taiwo was named by coach Samson Siasia in his final 18-man squad last week, but the 'Dream Team' have been struggling to secure the release of several of their top players, including Hapoel Tel Aviv goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Getafe forward Ike Uche.
In both cases Nigeria decided not to pursue the matter further because the pair were due to be named as two of three over-age players.
However, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have now lost patience with Taiwo's club.
'The NFF on Wednesday dispatched a quick letter to Olympique Marseilles FC of France,' NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire told www.kickoffnigeria.com.
'We reminded them of a decision taken earlier in the day by the Players' Status Committee of FIFA, that clubs must release players under the age of 23 wanted by their countries for the Olympic Games.'
