Crespo opts to remain with Inter Milan

Argentina forward Hernan Crespo intends to remain at Internazionale despite reports linking him with a move away from the San Siro.

Serie A clubs Sampdoria and Roma have shown an interest in the 33-year-old, who made 17 league appearances and struck four goals last season for Inter.

The return of Adriano to the Italian champions following a six-month loan spell at Sao Paulo means Crespo will have to battle for a starting place with the Brazilian and fellow Argentinian Julio Cruz.

'It has never crossed my mind to leave Inter,' said Crespo.' (Inter coach Jose) Mourinho is happy with me and with regards to a possible transfer that is a closed chapter.

'I always try to work hard in order to play more minutes. I know that I am in a great team with great strikers and there will be space for everyone.'
