Paris St Germain midfielder Clement Chantome has warned against getting carried away by this summer's signings.
The capital club, who narrowly avoided relegation from Ligue 1 last season, have brought in experienced stars Claude Makelele and Ludovic Giuly as well as 24-year-old midfielder Stephane Sessegnon.
President Charles Villeneuve has suggested more arrivals will follow, but Chantome does not believe the club's troubles are behind them just because of a few new arrivals.
'Let's wait to see the results before saying that PSG has returned to being the big club it was before,' he told France Football magazine.
'Around me people still seem afraid. Nobody wants to get carried away nor do they want to have a repeat of what happened last season.'
However, the 20-year-old did admit that the presence of Makelele and Giuly was already having a positive effect on the squad.
'We all want to have a career like Claude's,' Chantome added. 'Everyone is going to listen to his advice to progress.
'Ludo (Guily) brought a radio with him, along with his joie de vivre. That has brought a friendly atmosphere into the group.'
