June 12, 2008

Costa Rica coach Hernan Medford has left Saprissa trio Keylor Navas, Try Bennett and Michael Barrantes out of his squad for their World Cup qualifier against Grenada.

Goalkeeper Navas, defender Bennett and midfielder Barrantes have all been omitted from the 20-man party for the first leg of the second-round qualifier on Saturday.

Perez Zeledon defender Freddy Fernandez Beita and Sion forward Alvaro Saborio have also been left out.

All five players will though be available to play the second leg.

'We are obliged to win the tie. Maybe we are favourites, but we must prove that on the field,' said Medford.

The return match will be played a week on Saturday.
