June 2, 2008

Energie Cottbus have continued their preparations for the next Bundesliga season by completing their second new signing in less than a week.

After securing the services of forward Emil Jula from Romanian side Otelul Galati on Friday, they have now signed Turkey defender Cagdas Atan.

The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract after joining for an undisclosed fee from Trabzonspor.

'We have recently taken another look at Cagdas Atan and he has thoroughly convinced us,' explained Cottbus general manager Steffen Heidrich on the club's website.

'We are delighted to have added such a strong tackling, experienced player.'

Atan has represented his country four times, but is not part of their squad for Euro 2008.
