AMSTERDAM, May 15 (Reuters) - NEC Nijmegen thrashed NAC Breda 6-0 on Thursday in the first leg of a Dutch playoff for a place in next season's UEFA Cup.

Jonas Olsson volleyed home the opening goal in the 14th minute and doubled the lead 12 minutes later when he nodded a cross from Youssef El Akchaoui behind goalkeeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar.

Brett Holman added a third early in the second half before Jeremain Lens bagged two more in the space of four minutes.

El Akchaoui converted a 71st minute penalty to complete the rout, while NAC Breda had Tyrone Loran sent off.

The second leg will be played on Sunday with the winner qualifying for the first round of the UEFA Cup while the loser enters the Intertoto competition.
