MADRID, Spain -- Real Madrid completed its first La Liga sweep of Barcelona since 1984, beating its rival 4-1 Wednesday night on goals by Raul Gonzalez, Arjen Robben, Gonzalo Higuain and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Sticking with tradition, Barcelona saluted the defending champions as they came on to the Santiago Bernabeu field - the first time in 20 years the Catalans have formed the passage of honor for their rivals.
Madrid, which already has clinched the league title, leads the league series against Barcelona 68-58 and has lost only once in their last seven meetings.
ROME, -- Vitor Hugo Gomes Passos scored in the 52nd minute and Julio Cruz in the 85th to lead Internazionale of Milan over Lazio 2-0 for a berth in the Italian Cup final. Inter, which played a man short after defender Marco Materazzi for a hard foul in the 83rd minute, advanced on 2-0 aggregate in the home-and-home series and will play Roma or Catania in the final on May 24. Roma won the first leg 1-0 at home and plays at Catania on Thursday. Inter can clinch its third straight Serie A title Sunday against Siena and rested several regulars ahead of that match.
LYON -- Second-half substitute Juninho scored on a swerving 40-yard free kick in the 88th minute, and Lyon beat second-division Sedan 1-0 to reach its first French Cup final since 1976.
Lyon, which last won the French Cup in 1973, will play in the May 24 final at Saint-Denis against Paris Saint-Germain, which beat second-division Amiens 1-0 on Tuesday.
Trying for its seventh straight French league title, Lyon leads second-place Bordeaux by two points with two games remaining.
FRANKFURT -- Werder Bremen defeated Hamburg SV 1-0 on Hugo Almeida's goal in the 50th minute, moving ahead of Schalke and back into second place in the Bundesliga with two games remaining.
Bayern Munich, which clinched the title Sunday, beat Arminia Bielefeld 2-0 on goals from Franck Ribery and Lukas Podolski. The top two teams earn automatic berths in next season's European Champions League.
Borussia Moenchengladbach earned promotion back to the Bundesliga by beating Wehen Wiesbaden 3-0. A five-time German champion, Moenchengladbach had been relegated to the second division for only the second time.
