ZURICH, Switzerland -- European champion Greece is eighth in FIFA's world rankings while the United States jumped seven spots to 21 in the list released Wednesday.
Argentina is still at No. 1 at the head of an unchanged top seven.
The United States moved up after a 3-0 exhibition win at Poland.
For Greece, it is its highest position ever. Greece rose two places after beating Portugal last month 2-1 in an exhibition.
The game was a rematch of the 2004 European Championship final that Greece won 1-0.
With Brazil, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and France filling out the rest of the top seven spots, Portugal dropped a place to ninth and the Netherlands a place to 10th.
Israel reached the top 20 for the first time, rising two places to 20th thanks to a 1-0 exhibition match victory over Chile.
