QUITO, March 13 (Reuters) - Ecuador included English-based pair Antonio Valencia and Felipe Caicedo in their 24-man squad on Thursday for this month's home friendly with Haiti.
Midfielder Valencia, who plays for Premier League Wigan Athletic, and Manchester City striker Caicedo were named by coach Sixto Vizuete in a largely experimental squad for the game in the provincial town of Latacunga on March 26.
Vizuete, who has no previous experience coaching a professional team, was appointed on a long-term basis last month after leading Ecuador to a 5-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Peru in November while in temporary charge.
It will be Ecuador's first game since PSV Eindhoven midfielder Edison Mendez announced his retirement last month due to exhaustion from travelling between Europe and South America.
