Wigan striker Emile Heskey has been ruled out of the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Switzerland due to injury.

Latics manager Steve Bruce confirmed the 30-year-old would not be able to link up with Fabio Capello's party after suffering an unspecified problem during today's 1-0 victory over West Ham at JJB Stadium.

Heskey was withdrawn after 57 minutes of the Barclays Premier League match and was replaced by Marcus Bent.
