Bruce keeping tabs on Motherwell's McCormack

January 24, 2008

Wigan manager Steve Bruce is keeping tabs on highly-rated young Motherwell striker Ross McCormack.

McCormack has already held talks with Middlesbrough, although he has apparently made it clear he first wishes to see out his contract that expires this summer.

The 21-year-old has scored nine goals this season, including the winner from the penalty spot in Tuesday's Scottish Cup victory over Hearts.

Bruce said: 'McCormack is one who is interesting us because he's out of contract in the summer.

'At the moment, we're just having a look at him, monitoring the situation. He's one for the future really.'
