AMSTERDAM, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Heerenveen brushed AZ Alkmaar aside with a 4-0 victory that took them up to fifth place in the Dutch league on Saturday.
Danijel Pranjic opened the scoring with a penalty after two minutes before goals from Jakob Poulsen and Miralem Sulejmani settled the match before the interval.
Michael Bradley made it 4-0 when he headed home a cross from Poulsen 10 minutes into the second half.
PSV Eindhoven, who visit VVV Venlo on Sunday, are top with 39 points from 18 matches, three points above Ajax Amsterdam, who travel to NEC Nijmegen, and Feyenoord, who suffered a 2-1 derby defeat at Excelsior Rotterdam on Friday.
Heerenveen move up two places to fifth with 34 points, while Alkmaar slip to 11th on 28.
