Sweden international Erik Edman is on the verge of making a return to the Premier League after Rennes revealed 'two or three' English clubs had made an inquiry about the player.
Edman confirmed earlier this month that he would not be staying at Rennes beyond the end of this season, when his contract expires.
But the Brittany team are set to cash in and sell the 29-year-old former Tottenham defender in the January transfer window.
'He has offers from two or three English clubs,' general manager Pierre Dreossi said.
Reading and Birmingham have been linked with Edman, who has been free to talk to other clubs since January 1.
