ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Leaders PSV Eindhoven won 1-0 at Feyenoord on Saturday, handing the second-placed team in the Dutch league their first home defeat of the season.
Brazilian full back Alcides set up the only goal for the unmarked Otman Bakkal five minutes before half-time.
Feyenoord were outgunned in midfield where Ibrahim Afellay was outstanding for PSV. The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute when Nicky Hofs received his second yellow card.
PSV have 39 points from 18 matches, three more than Feyenoord. Ajax Amsterdam, fourth on 33 points and with a game in hand on the top two clubs, entertain AZ Alkmaar on Sunday.
Goran Lovre grabbed his second goal of the game five minutes into injury time to earn third-placed Groningen (36 points) a 3-2 home victory over bottom club Excelsior Rotterdam.
Lovre opened the scoring 13 minutes into the second half before Geert den Ouden replied for the visitors.
Marcus Berg restored Groningen's lead in the 64th but Excelsior equalised again through Daniel Guijo-Velasco.
Marcel Meeuwis converted a penalty seven minutes before time to salvage a 1-1 home draw for sixth-placed Roda JC Kerkrade against struggling Willem II Tilburg, who had gone ahead through Rydell Poepon eight minutes before the interval.
