MADRID, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Valencia have reached an agreement to loan midfielder Manuel Fernandes to Everton until the end of the season, the Primera Liga club said on Wednesday.
The deal includes an option for the Premier League club to buy the Portugal international.
Valencia signed the 21-year-old from Benfica for between 12 and €15 million on a six-year contract in August, but he has only made five league starts.
He is the latest player to fall foul of coach Ronald Koeman's shake up at the club that has seen goalkeeper Santiago Canizares, and midfielders David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo sidelined.
The loan deal follows an incident in the early hours of Jan 4, when the player was taken in for questioning by police following a fracas at a nightclub in the city.
Fernandes had loan spells at Portsmouth and Everton last season and was reported to be close to agreeing a permanent move to the Merseyside club in the summer.
