MADRID, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Osasuna edged towards the last 16 of the King's Cup when they beat fellow Primera Liga side Real Mallorca 2-0 at home in a first-leg tie on Wednesday.
Early goals from Uruguayan striker Walter Pandiani and midfielder Miguel Flano put the Navarrans in the driving seat ahead of next month's second leg.
Primera Liga strugglers Real Betis came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at second division Elche, while Atletico Madrid and Getafe claimed narrow away wins over lower ranked opponents.
Atletico went 2-0 up against second division Granada 74 with goals either side of halftime from strikers Diego Forlan and Mista but were made to sweat when their former midfielder Jose Juan Luque pulled a goal back just before the hour mark.
Getafe got the better of third division side Burgos thanks to a first-half strike by forward Kepa but had defender Cosmin Contra sent off two minutes from time.
The remaining first-leg ties will be played next Wednesday with Espanyol hosting Deportivo Coruna, Real Madrid at third division Alicante and Valencia visiting Real Union.
