Derby County manager Billy Davies has confirmed he has 'identified a list of players' as he attempts to strengthen his squad.

Davies has targeted six new signings in the January transfer window in a bid to haul the club from the bottom of the Premier League.

He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: 'We are looking at one or two possibilities in Britain and we have identified several foreign players, what I call 'door openers', little gems in the side we need.

'Of these six players, two or three will be foreign signings if we can get them.

'Myself and my staff are now ready to go and look at these players who we feel will provide the quality required to sustain a Premier League challenge.'
