Little appointed as new manager of Wrexham

November 15, 2007

Brian Little has been unveiled as the new Wrexham manager.

The experienced former Aston Villa, Leicester and Tranmere boss takes the reins with immediate effect from Brian Carey, who will work alongside Little at the Racecourse Ground.

Little, 53, takes charge with the struggling Dragons currently second bottom in League Two and without a game this weekend.

His first task will be to halt a six-game winless streak in all competitions which has seen the side dumped out of the FA Cup by Peterborough last weekend and slump down the league.

A poor start to the season under Carey's stewardship prompted the Wrexham board to announce recently they wanted to bring ``an experienced senior manager'' to the club, and Little certainly fits the bill.

Carey succeeded Denis Smith back in January and despite helping stave off the threat of relegation last season has struggled to find any level of consistency this term.
