RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Brazil won its second consecutive Beach World Cup on Sunday, beating Mexico 8-2 in the final.
Andre and Bruno each scored a pair of goals, giving Brazil its 11th world title in beach soccer since the event began in 1995. Benjamin, Betinho, Junior Negao and Buru also scored and were the tournament's leading scorers with 10 goals.
The Brazilians opened a three-goal lead and cruised to victory in front of the nearly 10,000 fans on Copacabana Beach.
Uruguay finished third among the 16 nations by edging France 1-0 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation.
