Jones and Tasci get first Germany calls

FRANKFURT, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Germany coach Joachim Loew has called up newcomers Jermaine Jones and Serdar Tasci to his 24-man squad for their final two Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Germany, who have already qualified for next year's finals, host Cyprus in Hanover on Nov. 17 and Wales in Frankfurt on Nov. 21 in Group D.

Loew also recalled two key players returning from injury, Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm and Werder Bremen midfielder Tim Borowski.

Also back after long absences are striker Oliver Neuville of second division side Borussia Moenchengladbach and Hanover 96 striker Mike Hanke.

Loew will be without injured midfielders Torsten Frings, Bernd Schneider, Michael Ballack and David Odonkor as well as striker Kevin Kuranyi.

Germany and the Czech Republic have already secured the two qualifying spots from the group. Both have 23 points from 10 matches.
