ATHENS, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Greek Super League club Veria have appointed Serb Ratko Dostanic as head coach, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
He replaces Dimitris Kalaitzidis who was sacked last week after it emerged that Veria had broken regulations in their Greek Cup game against Preveza.
Kalaitzidis should have selected at least two players under 21 but none were included in his 18-man squad.
Veria won 2-1 but could be thrown out of the competition and have league points deducted.
The 47-year-old Dostanic is a former defender who spent two seasons playing in France for Caen and Le Mans.
He began his managerial career in 2003 with FK Smederevo in Serbia and spent the 2004-05 season in charge of Red Star Belgrade.
