YAOUNDE, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Coton Sport retained their Cameroon premier league title on Sunday after defeating Foudre Akonolinga 4-0 to finish five points clear of their nearest rivals.
It was the fourth successive championship success for the team from the northern town of Garoua, who have now won five of the last six championships. They again qualify for next year's African Champions League.
Their nearest rivals Union Douala had faltered over the last few weeks and drew their last game of the season 0-0 at home to Aigle Royal Menoua on Sunday.
Coton needed only a draw and fielded an understrength team, with Congolese import Francis Litsingi scoring two of the four goals.
