Derby's Fagan faces ban following video evidence

September 4, 2007

LONDON, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Derby County striker Craig Fagan faces a possible three-match suspension after being issued with a violent conduct charge from the English Football Association (FA) following retrospective study of video evidence.

Fagan appeared to stamp on Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa during Derby's 6-0 defeat at Anfield in an English Premier League encounter last Saturday.

'Referee Alan Wiley has confirmed that he did not see the incident, and that had he done so he would have sent Fagan off,' read a statement on the FA Web site, www.thefa.com.

Fagan has until 1700 GMT on Wednesday to respond to the charge.
