BERLIN, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Champions VfB Stuttgart suffered a 1-0 defeat at local rivals Karlsruhe on Sunday, while Hamburg SV ended Bayern Munich's perfect start to the season by holding the Bundesliga leaders to a 1-1 draw.
Hungarian midfielder Tamas Hajnal made the breakthrough for promoted Karlsruhe early in the second half and Armin Veh's side could not get back to prevent a second defeat in the defence of their title.
Miroslav Klose scored his 100th Bundesliga goal to give Bayern a second-half lead against Hamburg but the home side forced an equaliser through Mohamed Zidan three minutes from time.
Bayern continue to lead the standings with 10 points from four matches, followed by a group of five teams, including Hamburg and Werder Bremen, on seven.
Stuttgart are down in 15th place, just one spot above the relegation zone, with four points from four games.
