NEW YORK -- Colorado Rapids midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy was suspended two games and fined $1,000 by Major League Soccer on Monday for elbowing an opponent earlier this month.
The league also fined Kansas City Wizards coach Curt Onalfo $1,000 and defender Nick Garcia $250 for criticizing officials.
Ballouchy collided with Wizards midfielder Sasha Victorine during first-half stoppage time on July 22 in Kansas City and received a yellow card. Victorine had to leave the game.
The committee ruled that Ballouchy's actions were deliberate and dangerous. He will miss Saturday's game against FC Dallas and the Aug. 11 game against the Houston Dynamo.
