Toulouse get points after fans stop Nantes match

May 24, 2007

PARIS, May 24 (Reuters) - Toulouse were awarded three points by the disciplinary ruling of the French Professional League (LFP) on Thursday after their Ligue 1 match at relegated Nantes last weekend was abandoned because angry fans invaded the pitch.

The match was a 0-0 draw when it was stopped by the referee three minutes from time after hundreds of Nantes fans descended on to the pitch.

The LFP ruling means Toulouse move a spot up to sixth and stay in the hunt for a UEFA Cup spot before the final Ligue 1 round of matches on Saturday.
