Ajax win, NAC Breda upset Feyenoord

AMSTERDAM, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Two early goals gave Ajax Amsterdam a 2-0 home win over Utrecht while NAC Breda scored a surprise 4-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Dutch league on Sunday.

John Heitinga opened the scoring for Ajax after 11 minutes with a shot from 20 metres. Ryan Babel then set up the second for Wesley Sneijder 10 minutes later.

PSV Eindhoven, who beat Heerenveen 3-1 on Saturday, are top with 56 points from 21 games. Ajax are second on 45 points, one more than AZ Alkmaar who overcame ADO Den Haag 3-1 on Friday.

NAC took a 2-0 lead inside 21 minutes through Sander van Gessel and Mike Zonneveld.

Glen Salmon added a third with a close-range header on the hour before the South African grabbed his second goal with nine minutes remaining.

Pierre van Hooijdonk converted a late consolation penalty for Feyenoord, who are fifth on 39 points, two behind Twente Enschede.
