BUENOS AIRES, Jan 21 (Reuters) - River Plate enjoyed a 2-0 win over Boca Juniors in a pre-season tournament match between two of Argentina's biggest rivals on Saturday.

River went ahead three minutes after halftime when Colombian forward Radamel Falcao broke clear of the Boca defence and scored with an angled shot.

Midfielder Diego Galvan headed the second after he was left unmarked at a corner in the 63rd minute.

Boca, under new coach Miguel Angel Russo, also lost the first game of the tournament, staged in the resort town of Mar del Plata, when they went down 1-0 to Independiente.
