AMSTERDAM, Jan 20 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven beat 10-man Heerenveen 3-1 thanks to three first half goals, including two penalties, in the Dutch league on Saturday.
PSV are top with 56 points from 21 matches ahead of AZ Alkmaar, who beat ADO Den Haag 3-1 on Friday. Ajax Amsterdam are third on 42 points before they host Utrecht on Sunday.
PSV's Timmy Simons scored their first penalty after 13 minutes following a professional foul by Heerenveen defender Calvin Jong-A-Pin, who was sent off.
Afonso Alves equalised seven minutes later with his 19th goal of the season but seconds later Arouna Kone restored PSV's lead before Jefferson Farfan converted a second penalty in the 35th to seal the win.
